A charity asked our founder, David Victor, then touring as guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the multi-platinum band BOSTON, to perform for children in the pediatric oncology ward at Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach, California. The children did not know the BOSTON catalog, but they responded to the presence of a musician singing to them. That reaction became the reason this organization exists. We were founded in January 2019 in San Ramon, California, and the IRS recognized us as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization effective May 1, 2019, under EIN 83-3162389, classified under NTEE code A68 (Music). Our model has evolved since then. The early program centered on individual visits; today we perform for groups of patients gathered in the common areas, day rooms, and activity spaces of healthcare facilities, typically 20 or more patients at a visit.
